4. How do I clean silver jewelry?
5. Precious stones, what is the meaning of?
1. What is silver?
Silver is a great metal that ages beautifully together with you. With time scratches will occur, but no worries, they level out and form a patinated surface, exactly like with our aging. Silver is very durable and we design the jewelry to last.
Silver shines incredibly beautiful in the sun and reflects and catches the light nearly 100%, that's noticeable when we're doing photo shoots of our jewelry, it gives so many reflexes.
All jewelry from MoM of Sweden is made of real silver, also called sterling silver or fine silver. All are marked with the stamp 925. That means that the amount of silver is 925/1000. The remaining 75 or 7,5% are other metals that are alloyed with the silver to make it more hard and durable.
2. What is gold?
Fine gold comes in 24k and in buillons. In order to create jewelry, the gold has to be alloyed with other metals to make it more sturdy and durable, just like silver. That means when the amount of gold goes down to 75% (750/1000) the amount is 18k. Jewelry that has a lower amount than 14k does not count as gold in Sweden and such jewelry cannot be sold as gold.
3. Which ring size do I have?
Good to know when you buy a bigger and heavier ring.
We spend a lot of time to shape the design so it's comfortable to carry. The base of the ring is a bit wider and it could be that you need a bit bigger size than you normally have. It's important that you have a size that fits you perfectly, and preferably a bit tight, otherwise, the ring can "slide" on your finger and that is not comfortable. If you're not sure of your size, please see Size guide.
I get to hear from many women quite often that they don't believe they look good in a big ring. That is always a matter of habit and a lot of women contact us again to say that they love their new big ring. It could take up to a week to get used to it.
Both men and women can wear our rings, they are unisex and off course we have big sizes as well, even up to size 22.

Silver discolor and that is due to sulfur that exists around us, in the air but also on the skin. When the silver is discolored, it is called oxidation.

5. Precious stones, what is the story behind?
Since a long time ago, humans have believed in the power of stones and their capability to keep us healthy and keep away bad spirits. The oldest jewelry found with a crystal is about 20,000 years old.
Regardless if you believe in the healing of the stones or not, the stones are very beautiful, especially in a piece of jewelry.
We use precious stones in our silver jewelry like onyx, rose quartz, smokey quartz, and quartz. A precious stone and a semi-precious stone are both classifications of gemstones. It is all minerals and is in the refined and cut form used for jewelry. The commercial term precious stones were invented to separate diamonds, rubies, emeralds, and sapphires from the rest, The value of a semi-precious stone could sometimes be more compared to a precious due to e.g. the dispersion, luster and refractive index, etc. and today there is a great demand. Regardless of their name, precious or semi-precious, they are for sure beautiful!
