Baking powder and tin foil
NOTE. Do not use baking soda to clean jewellery with an induced oxidised surface or parts, such as the black bottom of the Edge. The oxidisation will be damaged or disappear! Also, be careful with jewellery with stones. Try instead the below method with dish soap.
Dish soap- dish detergent
You can also use dish detergent for quick cleaning, dish soap is perfect for silver jewellery that is oxidised or jewellery with stones. Rub your silver jewellery with an old toothbrush and detergent, rinse underwater. Use a soft cloth to do some light polishing.
Toothpaste
Toothpaste is commonly used to polish jewellery. It does work on tarnish, but toothpaste can contain abrasives, so it can damage smooth shiny surfaces of jewellery. Try on a small piece if you are not sure. Brush clean with an old toothbrush.
Ketchup
The acidic substances in ketchup react with the tarnish and eliminate it. Pour a small amount on a clean smooth cloth and rub the silver with it. Use extra effort where the piece is very tarnished. Then rinse the silver in water, and polish with the polishing cloth.
Commercial cleaners for silver jewellery
If necessary, buy a commercial silver-cleaning product in a specialty shop, e.g., a jewellery store. read the instructions carefully.
Love and Care for Leather
Leather does not like too much water. Washing your hands is fine, but avoid showers and baths with the leather bracelet on. Sometimes the leather wants a little extra care. You are best doing this by greasing the leather with leather fat or leather balm. Be sure that the products do not contain any chemicals or minerals as they tear out the stitches.
